Okay. So I definitely have some stuff to share starting with the story of the girl who got hit by a car at BSU. So tonight, we were working on tomorrow's issue (well now today's technically) of The Comment when we got some news. A girl was hit by a car near Burrill Ave and was killed. This is what we were told. After some of the staff members dug more into it and asked their sources if they knew anything, we found out that the girl did not get killed, but was seriously injured. We were told that she was hit by two cars, but one source told one of our staff members that she was only hit by one car. We were also told that the guy who hit the girl got out of the car to see if she was okay and got hit by a second car himself. In either case, this whole thing is a mess. Also, the only paper I was able to find online to have covered this so quickly was The Enterprise, which stated that the girl was hit by two cars. In any case, my prayers go out to her and her family. If the boy turns out to have indeed got hit, my prayers and thoughts go out to him and him family as well.

Wow...either way, crazy story. Let's hope you can get all of the right facts for a great story.
ReplyDeleteNot that I don't have sympathy for these two people, but this girl is said to have not been in a crosswalk, and at 6pm in the dark, I feel like that's important . . and also, under the picture it says "Police have not released the woman's name," and then in the article it says "Catrina Martins," well . . whatever. I definitely hate news. Just saying.
